There are many famous people in history, each person is famous for their own accomplishments, as well as their effect on the world we know today. Some of these famous people in history include Marquis de Lafayette, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton, these people helped change the world for the better. Marie Joseph Pau Yves Roche Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette was born into a family of noble military derivation on September 6, 1757, in Chavaniac, France. Lafayette’s father was killed in a battle during the Seven Years War and his mother died in 1770 leaving him an orphan with a vast inheritance. Lafayette joined the Royal Army the following year and married 14 year old Marie Adrienne Franà §oise de Noailles, a member of a†¦show more content†¦Named commander of the Paris National Guard as violence broke out in 1789, Lafayette was obligated to protect the Royal Family but was captured by Austrian forces and didn’t return to France until 1799. When he did return he maintained a low profile while Napoleon Bonaparte took power as emperor of France, but he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies during the Hundred Days and vehemently argued for Napoleon’s abdication after the defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. After Charles X was overthrown during the July Revolution in 1800, Lafayette was offered the chance to become dictator but as he was aging he decided to decline the offer and let the rule pass to Louis-Philippe, and was instead was reestablished as commander of the National Guard. Following a battle with pneumonia he died on May 20, 1834. James Madison was born on March 16, 1751 in Port Conway, Virginia. Madison, the oldest of 12 children, was raised on the family plantation, Montpelier, in Orange County, Virginia Once he was 18 Madison left Montpelier in order to attend the College of New Jersey (which is now Princeton University). Montpelier was established by Madison’s grandfather in 1723. An estimated 100 slaves lived at Montpelier when Madison owned it. The land was sold after his death and today the estate covers some 2,600 acres and is open to the public. After his graduation Madison took interest in the relationship between the American colonies and Great Britain. â€Å"Crazy Homeless Man† It was sophomore year of high school and after a long day of taking tests and writing essays it was finally time to go home. My cousin and I waited for and then got into our regular train. As we got in, we saw nothing out of the ordinary; you had your regular business man with too much product in his perfectly combed hair, that seemed as though he had spent hours on it, reading his newspaper while tapping his overpriced shoes on the floor, screaming little kids jumping up and down and swinging from the poles while their negligent nannies, totally oblivious of the whole scene, sit quietly reading their new editions of Harry Potter, and finally the homeless guy on the corner seat wrapped up in old newspapers and a dirty fleece, probably found while searching through some garbage, trying to get a good nap in before he has to switch trains. The land I am currenly operating on,was the most suitable and most available at the time. 2. It was one of the best are because there wasn’t any bakery nearby and the plaza was well secured. 3. Page 2 Selection of Appropriate Labour TYPES OF LABOUR NECESSARY The type of labour necessary are Skilled and Semi-Skilled labour. NUMBER OF PERSONS EMPLOYED AND THEIR DUTIES OR FUNCTIONS 1. 14 BAKERS (They bake or prepare the delicies). 2. 5 JANITORS(They keep the bakery clean so that customers can visit a clean environment). 3. 8 CASHIERS(They calculate and check up the money and give the customers receipts for products that they have purchased). 4. 1 MANAGER(He sees to it that the workers follow all the instructions). 5. 12 SALES REPRESENTATIVES(They carry out the orders to the other business places,for eg,supermarkets,stores and also hotels. ONE REASON WHY THIS TYPE OF LABOUR IS NECESSARY One reason why skilled labour is necessary is because it helps the workers to get the right training and teaching for the job. PAGE 4 TYPE OF PRODUCTION THE TYPE OF PRODUCTION In â€Å"DELIGHTFULL PASTRIES’’ the type of production in this business is secondary production. DESCRIBING THE TYPE OF PRODUCTION In Secondary Production(Manufacturing)Industries, these involve taking raw materials and converting them into finish or semi-finished products. Manufacturing is where secondary production commences. Secondary Production(Manufacturing)Industries convert the raw materials into the desired goods. For example, some fruits and ground provisions are the raw materials used in the production of processed food items. so for eg, in delightfull pastries, we used bananas to make banana bread and carrot to make carrot cake. Page 6 LEVELS OF PRODUCTION THE LEVEL OF PRODUCTION In Delightfull Pastries the level of production that my business engages in is DOMESTIC PRODUCTION. DESCRIBING THE LEVEL OF PRODUCTION In my business the level of production is domestic production. Domestic Production involves producing goods and services not just for the individual, family and community, but also for the local market. Natural and Human resources determine what can be produced. Additionally consumption patterns are determined by what is produced locally. In theory countries that engage in large scale domestic production of goods and services such as Agriculture for local consumption are able to exist at the level of domestic production. Page 7 QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES Two quality control measures that my business must adhere to are: 1. We must be registered with the registrar of company. 2. And we must have a foods license/foods handlers permit to show that inspecters have come and check the place to show that it is healthy and that we adhere to other rulers of the government. Page 8 USES OF TECHNOLOGY In the business two types of technology used are Telephones and Electrical Stoves. The technology used is used to efficiency of the business by making work easier for example, the telephones are used for making calls to or our suppliers with sells us flour and bananas such as the flour mills and Jamaica banana buyers. Also for receiving calls from our regular customers for examples some of whom buy our pastries to sell in their shops, wholesales and supermarkets. Also the stove is used to enhance the efficiency of the business by letting us bake the cakes without having to use a coal stove which could not hold a lot of things as the Electrical stove and which would take a lot of time. Page 9 LINKAGES THE TYPE OF LINKAGE TO BE DERIVED FROM THE BUSINESS In this type of business, the type of linkage to be derived from the business forward linkage. It is forward linkage because we are located near the flour mill which makes the flour which is one of the main ingredients when baking pastries so it is close to the flour mill where a lot of people can see. As you may also know that the forward linkage is when one industry or sector produces the raw materials for another. So for example the flour mill provide the flour for us. BENEFIT OF THE TYPE OF LINKAGE One benefit of the type of linkage is that our buyers are closer to the industry which provides raw materials for the business and it influences the site of the location, meaning that it is nearer to the flour mill. Page 10 GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS Government regulations in the business is that we the business must have a food handlers permit or food licence to show that the place was inspected and is healthy to carry out business activities and that we have been checked by the ministry of heatlh and to see to it that the business is registered with the Registrar of Company and further more to see to it that the business is not breaking any rule that the government has put in place.
